My favourite summer cocktail! Really easy and you can have it either on the rocks or as a frozen margarita.
25ml lime juice
Salt to rim glasses
Slice of orange to garnish
First wet the rim of your glass with some lime juice, then shake salt onto a plate. Dip the rim of the glass into the salt to cover the edge. This is optional, but I would definitely recommend doing it!
Fill your shaker with plenty of ice. Then pour in the tequila, Cointreau and lime juice. Pop the lid on and secure it, then shake until the shaker is ice cold! Once it’s ready take the lid off, attach the hawthorn strainer and pour into the glass over a fine sieve.
If you prefer a frozen margarita all you need to do is add your ingredients to a blender with a load of ice and pulse blend until it’s mixed in. Just be careful you don’t leave it too long as the ice will start to melt. Then garnish with your orange and enjoy!
